Loaves and Fishes’ fresh produce and breakfast products is feeding hungry children and nourishing families attached to Waverley Primary School near Launceston.

The breakfast club feeds from a dozen to 45 students a day, while fresh produce is placed at the school entrance to be taken at will, or used in a cooking program for parents where families get to take home what they make.

Overseeing the breakfast program is facilitators coordinator Gabrielle Anderson and groundskeeper Nick Ainslie, (pictured below) with help from parents and the school chaplain.

“I love being involved in the breakfast program,” Gabrielle said.

“The kids are sweet and go to school with a full tummy.

“We couldn’t do it without you guys.”

The school recently hosted a breakfast for staff from Loaves and Fishes and other organisations supporting the school feeding program.
