A fanatical attention to service and forging lifelong friendships with customers has enabled Loaves and Fishes preferred supplier, Medhurst Kitchen Equipment, to remain a locally-owned and run Tasmanian business since 1912.

Loaves and Fishes general manager Aaron Kropf said he had been overwhelmed with the level of service and care shown by Medhurst.

“We have bought everything from knives and forks, glassware, aprons and tableware to ovens, fridges and coolrooms from Medhurst for our Devonport and Hobart kitchens,” he said.

“It always feels like we’re dealing with a friend who understands what we are about, and will do whatever it takes for us to thrive.

“They have worked hard to understand our needs and helped us choose quality products that will do the job, without selling us anything we don’t need.

“There’s an incredible trust and respect that has developed.

“The result is that struggling and vulnerable Tasmanians get healthy, nutritious food.”

Medhurst director Elaine Killalea said it was a “no brainer” to get behind Loaves and Fishes.

“We are a business with a conscience, and we see the great job Loaves and Fishes is doing and want to help,” she said.

“The organisation is filled with passion and energy, and attracts extraordinary generosity because people know that surplus food will be well used.”

Aaron first heard about Medhurst from friends with school meals partner, School Food Matters, who were also raving fans of Medhurst.

Medhurst, based in Hobart, has almost 20,000 product lines.
